Please view the photo carefully to appreciate the quality of this lovely bench. Product Information: The timber slats used are Iroko and are planed, rounded and fixed to the cast iron ends using stainless steel counter sunk bolts, nuts and washers.
The wood has been treated with teak oil for lasting protection. Iroko is often referred to as African teak since it shares many of the properties of teak, as well as the colouration. It is a very durable oily hardwood, ideally suited to our climate where it is used extensively when a long-lasting hardwood is required. The hardwood is very durable with a rich colour when cut. As with all outdoor woods this will fade over time so to help maintain its appearance we strongly recommend an oiling in the spring and before winter each year with teak oil. We do not recommend you use any types of colour/stain treatments unless you adore flaky wood and love maintenance! If left untreated it will bleach with the sun and turn silvery grey over time.
